The MSS Electro-Optical (E-O) & Infrared Countermeasures (IRCM) Specialty Group is the premier secure forum for the presentation, discussion, and dissemination of the state-of-the-art applications of countermeasures for military platform protection. The communities this group supports are practitioners within the disciplines of survivability, specifically susceptibility reduction and electronic warfare. The group has structured the forum to encourage submissions on emerging concepts and the development, testing, modeling and simulation of the following types of systems: - Threats to all services’ platforms with emphasis on missiles and other guided weapons including Uncrewed Aerial Systems (UAS)
- Threats and countermeasures operating across multiple spectral bands blending EO / IR with Radio Frequency (RF) sensors
- Threat warning and detection sensors and systems, particularly those that allow for automated countermeasure responses
- Signatures of U.S. platforms and the suppression of those signatures
- Active / directed infrared countermeasure systems
- Expendable countermeasures
